On Thursday, October 7, 2021, the Abington Senior High School Select Choir hosted their semi-annual Coffee House show and fundraising event outdoors in Schwarzman Stadium.
Occurring each fall and spring, the Coffee House is a student-run, cabaret-style performance where the students of Select Choir choose their songs, obtain the music, rehearse, create signs and set lists, bring concessions to sell (including coffee!), and put on a performance for the community.
Led by senior Dahlia Ufberg, who is this year’s choir manager, with support from music teacher, Ms. Lori Wolf, the tradition also serves as a fundraising event. Proceeds benefit the Select Choir, with a portion this year also being donated to the Upper Dublin Tornado Relief Fund. The group concluded their show with a performance of the song “You’ll Never Walk Alone” in support of their UD High School peers.
The event was covered by multiple news stations, including The CW Philly and CBS Philly (watch the news clip below)
