For the 10th consecutive year, Abington Senior High School students participated in the Greenfield Youth Film Festival, with 2019 marking the event’s 11th year. This festival is the largest and most competitive in the Philadelphia, Montgomery, and Bucks Counties metropolitan area, with 24 schools submitting over 300 films that are judged by industry professionals.
The following ASHS students received awards at the film screening and awards presentation, held at Upper Dublin High School:
- Neil Byrnes, Andrew O’Neill, and Sean Touey, all seniors, won the Best Comedy and Collaboration awards. One of Neil’s films, “Mr. Luke,” was screened at the event and got the biggest laughs of the night. This is the fourth year in a row that Abington has won the award for Best Comedy.
In addition, many students received certificates for being finalists in certain categories and/or being nominated for specific awards:

- Andrew O’Neill – “My Cousin Geno” (Narrative, Best Comedy, Acting, Screenplay); “Shellshocked” (Narrative, Best Comedy, Direction, Acting, Screenplay, Sound Design)
- Sean Touey – “Layers” (Narrative, Direction, Screenplay, Producer)
The following students assisted in the production of the award-winning films:
