Congratulations to Copper Beech Elementary School’s Jillian Brown for winning Honorable Mention in the Anti-Defamation League’s 2017 “No Place for Hate” Student Essay Contest. She was recognized and honored at a VIP breakfast for her accomplishment at the No Place for Hate Designation Celebration on June 6 at the Walnut Street Theatre, accompanied by her parents. Jillian wrote a response to the following prompt: “Think about a time when you, or someone you know, was excluded or treated badly because of your race, religion or some other reason. Discuss how that made you feel and what you could have done to resolve the situation.” Jillian received a special certificate and free registration for the ADL’s Walk Against Hate.
