At Overlook Elementary School’s Annual Science Fair, students displayed their self-created projects, experiments, and inventions to the school community. Each “junior scientist” had a space where they demonstrated their scientific knowledge and showed off their hard work. Experiments included a “Whack-A-Mole(R)” like game developed with the Makey-Makey technology and aluminum foil pads; several slime creations; a demonstration of the Earth’s crust; beautiful, artistic crystals made from Borax; a battery made from potatoes; a taste test to see if store brand foods matched higher priced national brands; a Makey-Makey hippo game and musical instrument; and much more. There was even a demonstration about DNA extraction. A selection of several experiments and projects is shown here.
