At the School Board meeting last night, Abington Athletic Director Mr. Todd Vaccaro introduced two Abington Senior High School student athletes who have been recognized by the US Lacrosse organization: Samantha McGee and Casey McCallister.

Samantha represented the Philadelphia region in the US Lacrosse Women’s National Tournament where she was named a finalist for the Heather Leigh Albert Award presented to the outstanding player. Later this month she will compete in the Under Amour(R) Underclass Tournament. The past January she verbally committed to play Division I lacrosse at St. Joseph’s University.
Casey, a member of the Abington Girls Lacrosse team this past season, has been named a US Lacrosse High School Academic All-American. This award recognizes student-athletes like Casey who meet the demands of a varsity athletic program along with challenging, rigorous course work, maintaining a required 3.6 or better GPA. Casey excels on the lacrosse field as well as in classroom work. She received Second Team SOL American Conference All League recognition this season, scoring 43 goals and 25 assists.
