Update to 12/23 Early Dismissal Schedule

Dear Abington School District Families, 

As you may be aware, current weather forecasts for tomorrow predict inclement weather through the morning, followed by freezing temperatures in the mid- to late afternoon. 

In an effort to get everyone home ahead of the icy conditions, tomorrow, Friday, Dec. 23, all schools will now dismiss at the following times:

• 11:05 a.m. – Abington Senior High School
• 11:30 a.m. – Abington Middle School
• 11:50 a.m. – Elementary Schools

Please note, this means that all schools will dismiss 3 ½ hours earlier than a typical school day, opposed to 3 hours. The YMCA after-school care will be canceled. 

Principals will provide further information regarding school day schedules–including lunches–and bell schedules at the secondary level. 

Thank you for your understanding as we work to ensure all of our students and staff can get home safely ahead of the winter break. Should the conditions change which warrant a full closure, we will communicate ASAP to provide advanced notice.
