The Abington Senior High School Athletic Department, Administration, students, and families recognized and celebrated four student-athletes’ accomplishments today.  After a welcome and introduction by Athletic Director Todd Vaccaro, Abington Senior High School alumna Maddy Evans presented a very inspirational, uplifting, and positive talk.

Honored as they signed the Letters of Intent, accompanied by family members, were:

  • OLIVIA BERNSTEIN – Softball – West Chester University
  • SAMANTHA BRUSHA – Girls’ Basketball – Millersville University
  • JOHNPAUL NOLAN – Baseball – East Stroudsburg University
  • GRACE WHITNEY – Girls’ Volleyball – West Chester University

Abington Class of 2009 alumna Maddy Evans, professional soccer player for the past six years and now Assistant Coach for women’s soccer at West Chester University, encouraged the athletes to not only do their best but to enjoy their accomplishments, the people and teammates they will play with, and that they “Got To” play their sports.

A wonderful video of the athletes’ interviews and highlights of their playing accomplishments was presented along with messages from coaches Jon Morrissette (baseball); Dan Marsh (girls’ basketball and volleyball); and Ellie White (softball).  The video was produced by Olivia Bernstein, Sean Touey, and teacher Mr. Bryan Quigley and  can be viewed on the Abington School District Facebook page and website.
